There
is a good deal in the name of this new building on
the mall: the Integrated Learning Center (ILC). It
is physically in the center of campus and serves
as the central locale for freshman and sophomore students
classes, studying, and advising. The Center therefore
is the site of students learning in the widest
sense, a place where they receive instruction and
advice about academic matters and where they do much
of their individual and group study. Perhaps most
significantly, the Learning Center provides for the
integration of students, instructors, advising, technology,
and librarians together in a resource-rich environment
of classrooms, study facilities, and the library,
all equipped with state-of-the-art technology. In
fact, and in name, much suggests that the Integrated
Learning Center goes far toward realizing the vision
and ideal of the foundational educational experience
that we all share at The
University of Arizona.
Food and beverages are not permitted in the ILC
classrooms. If you wish to have a pizza party or
other celebration with food in the ILC it must be in
the courtyard.
Smoking is not permitted in the ILC building.
The courtyard is considered part of the building, thus
smoking is not allowed in the courtyard either.
